Weddings are back and couples are excited about getting married again. That means lots of planning, decision making and finding THE DRESS.

One of the most photographed items on a bride is her dress so, before you start shopping for your wedding dress, there are a few things you should consider.

After doing your research and you have a good idea of what you want, it's time to schedule your dress shopping appointments at bridal boutiques.

Dress shopping can be overwhelming. We've put together a dress shopping guide to help you make the dress shopping experience seamless and fun. Here are 5 things to keep in mind when shopping for your dream wedding dress.

1.

Start dress shopping early

When it comes to finding your dress, the earlier you can shop, the better. Don’t wait until the last minute to decide. You may not be able to get the dress you fall in love with in time if you wait too long.

Give yourself ample time to shop and make a less rushed decision. Once you find THE DRESS, you will know. Place your order.

2.

Have an idea of your wedding style before your appointment

Your wedding should tell your love story and every element of the wedding should be cohesive from your choice of flowers to stationary, music to your wedding day attire. Your dress should match the wedding vibe and style while incorporating your personal style. Choose a dress style that works with your wedding vision.

3.

Keep your shopping team small

You want to carefully select a handful of your trusted friends and/or family to go with for your dress shopping appointments. This is not the time to bring all your friends. You want a select few friends at these appointments. You want a supportive group that will allow you to make your own decision versus what they like and want for you. This is your wedding. While your friends, bridesmaids and family mean well, your dress decision should be YOURS not what someone else wants on you. Choose your shopping team wisely.

4.

Be open to ideas

You may have had this dream of wearing a particular dress style for your wedding but it turns out another style suits your body better. Don’t be stuck on that initial idea. There are a ton of options out there that you may not be aware of. The stylists at the bridals boutiques and your wedding planner are there to guide you through this process. Be open to expert advice and new ideas if it works in your favor.

5.

Stick to your budget

You should go into your dress shopping appointments with a realistic budget in mind. While it may be tempting to try on dresses you love outside your budget, be sure to stick with your budget (What you can afford). Don’t stray from your budget.

With these 5 tips, you should be more prepared for your dress shopping journey. Remember to have fun during the process.

Happy Planning!
